VOLUNTEERS

volunteers

The Harmony Institute invites and appreciates volunteers who are able to help us with either special events or activities and chores at Spirit Farm.  It doesn’t matter if you can schedule a regular time to come in or are available occasionally as your schedule permits – we’re glad to have you any time!

SPIRIT FARM
We have lots of friendly farm animals who love attention and always appreciate grooming or handling.  In particular, our little donkeys Hickory and Daisy, or our miniature horses, Tornado, Flower and Ginger, need weekly baths, brushing and de-tangling their manes and tails.  We also love to see them get outside their pasture enclosures and go for a walk.  If animal interaction isn’t for you, our garden, grounds or trails can always use attention whether it’s weeding, edging or clearing.  For the general handy-person, we’ve got fencing, tidying up Red’s Saloon or other general maintenance to offer.  There’s always something to do at the Farm.  Just plan on getting dirty and having fun.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Our main event is our Annual Golf Invitational the last Friday of every October.  We need folks to help with registration, prizes and photography.  Throughout the year we have other smaller events including our seasonal specials at Spirit Farm and annual “Christmas at the Farm”.

HOW TO SIGN UP
If you are at least 18 years old, you can contact our Education Coordinator Samantha Covell either by calling her at 407-957-0207 or emailing scovell@harmonyinstitute.org.  If you are interested in volunteering at the Farm, Samantha will need to set up a time to meet with you to go through our safety training before you start.  You may also download, complete and submit our volunteer application by clicking here and indicate a good time for Samantha to give you a call.

Thanks for your interest.  We hope to have you on board soon!

If you have expertise in a specific area and would be willing to donate your time giving a workshop or presentation at Spirit Farm, please contact us. We are interested in presentations/workshops that focus on environmental, conservation, animal and wildlife subject matter.
